Luis was a nice guy, but I don’t think he was very knowledgeable about the issue I was having with my dryer. I explained to him that it was the exact same model dryer that I had previously to owning this one. I bought this dryer about two months ago and the door is extremely hard to shut. Even the other people in my household have noticed it is extremely difficult to close. When Luis came out and pushed on the door to try and shut it, even he had some difficulty closing it. He literally had to put a little body weight into it to get it to shut. But he tried explaining to me that this is just how the door latches are on dryers to keep them from opening when clothes are pushing against it during the dry cycle. I understand what he is saying, but as I stated before, this is the exact same dryer that I had before replacing it with this one. The door was nowhere near as difficult to shut. I still think there is something wrong with how difficult it is to close the door. But according to the technician, it would be the exact same thing if he replaced it with a new latch. I guess we will have to agree to disagree and hope that we do not damage the door because of how hard we are having to push or slam it to get it to latch. I am 54 years old and have been washing my own clothes for longer than I can remember. I have never had a dryer door this difficult to close. It actually takes effort to get it to latch.
