"Upon arrival, I inspected the previous repair involving the seal system components to confirm that the unit was operating as expected. The lines were getting hot, indicating that cooling was flowing through the system without leaks or component failures. The previous repair appeared to be successful, and both compartments were cooling normally. This also aligned with the temperature readings recorded through the data loggers by the previous technician, confirming that the unit was cooling within the specified range.The customer submitted a video capturing a noise coming from the freezer, which sounded like the evaporator fan hitting ice. I asked the customer if they had noticed any ice buildup on the back panel, to which they responded no. During my inspection, I did not find any ice present.Next, I addressed the customer's second complaint regarding the lack of ice production. Under diagnostics, we performed Service Test 56 and found an E5 error code. This error is preventing the ice maker from operating correctly. After consulting with our tech support team and sharing my findings, they recommended running a power cycle by disconnecting the unit for five minutes and then reconnecting it. This should clear the error code from the ice maker and reset its cycle.Initially, I informed the customer that I would provide a quote for two componentsthe ice maker and the freezer evaporator assembly. However, after discussing the issue with our Techline, they advised running a power cycle first, monitoring the unit for a few days, and checking ice production before proceeding with any part replacements. If the error code returns, ice production does not resume, or the freezer evaporator freezes over, we can proceed with replacing both the ice maker and the freezer evaporator assembly.
